The full moon, known as the Hunter’s Moon, will light up the sky Sunday night.

You will be able to see it in the sky on Sunday, October 13, around 5 p.m. ET. but don’t worry, The Full Hunter’s Moon will appear full for three days.

The moon always follows September’s, Harvest Moon. It will stay full from Saturday morning to Tuesday morning.

How Hunter’s Moon got its Name

According to the Farmer’s Almanac, the Hunter’s Moon is reportedly the best time for hunting deer and other animals.


The earliest use of the term “Hunter’s Moon” cited in the Oxford English Dictionary is from 1710.
