WhatsApp is the world’s most used messaging platform that connects billions of people every day. This helped hacker to attack millions of users and get their personal data. WhatsApp was recently affected by a double-free bug that allowed hackers to get access to user’s data through GIFs.

Just opening the WhatsApp Gallery to send images or videos is enough to trigger the bug. Even if you don’t send any GIF or file the bug will still be activated giving hackers remote access.

How to Stop Whatsapp Security Risk

To stope Bug affecting your smartphone update your WhatsApp to the latest version (2.19.244 or above). The bug has been patched for WhatsApp version 2.19.244 and works only till the version 2.19.230. So if you update your Whatsapp to the latest veraion you can avoid security risk.
