WhatsApp reportedly banning groups with suspicious, malicious names
WhatsApp world’s largest messaging app reportedly banning users who are participants of Whatsapp groups with illegal names or subjects.
WhatsApp groups with names that denote illegal activities, Adult content are getting banned on the messaging platform. As a result, each member of that group is banned from WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is banning groups with suspicious names: Report
One of Reddit’s users said, “Hi! I was permanently banned from Whatsapp because one guy changed the university’s name group to “Childs Pornography” and now the entire group is banned.
All the members of that WhatsApp group received an automatic response from WhatsApp saying that their accounts were banned because they violated the rules and no further assistance would be provided to them on this.

After a week of banning the users, WhatsApp restored their account but without any clarification. More users reported similar incidents happening to their WhatsApp Groups.
Another Reddit user etrec89 reported that a group of about 50 persons was permanently banned because somebody in the group changed the name of the group using a malicious name. Although this changed lasted for not more than 1 minute, the entire group was banned.

We are all part of multiple WhatsApp groups, whether we like it or not, it seems odd that WhatsApp is banning the number of all group members regardless of their involvement.
How to not Get Banned on Whatsapp Groups
The only defense at the moment seems to be to ensure that only Group Admins have the right to change the group names.
To change Whatsapp Group Admin roles goto Whatsapp Group Settings > Edit Group Info > Only Admins.
